When we find ourselves entangled in the complex web of our mental lives, we need trusted counsel. We need someone who can help us understand how we got there and kindly suggest which foot to pull out of the tangle first.
I’m a licensed psychotherapist working with adults who want to overcome their struggles related to chronic stress, anxiety, unresolved depression, and developmental trauma. Current client concerns often involve problems as they relate to parenting, relationships, work, health concerns or a major life transition.
“All you need is already within you, only you must approach your self with reverence and love… all I plead with you is this: make love of yourself perfect.” Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
My work focuses on helping clients identify and process the problem memories, stuck emotions or traumas that tend to be driving their automatic and habitual thoughts, reactions and negative or unhelpful patterns of behavior. This core work is tremendously helpful as we move on to build the kind of mindful practice that will help the client unwind and eventually abandon the unwanted habits of thought and behavior that remain. These processes serve to liberate, helping clients build trust in their whole self as they natural gain vitality and the motivation to live more of their life, with greater ease and meaning.
My therapeutic work is integrative and holistic, assuming a continuous mind-body-brain-world connection. My clinical orientation draws primarily from psychodynamic, humanistic and attachment-based theory. It is highly informed by affective neuroscience and Buddhist psychology. As appropriate to a client's needs, I may apply one or more of the following approaches in therapy: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Mindfulness Based therapies and polyvagal exercises.
I’ve worked with adults, children and families, providing social work and counseling services within private agency, government and private practice settings for over 30 years. Licensed as a mental health counselor in 2015, I currently provide individual therapy to adults in an online private practice.

At this time, I do not bill insurance directly, but some clients submit billing statements to their health plans to seek reimbursement. I am happy to provide these billing statements by request. You will need to check with your insurance company to determine your coverage.
