I’m a licensed psychotherapist working with adults struggling with symptoms of chronic stress, anxiety, depression and developmental trauma, particularly as they manifest in problems around relationships, parenting, work and career, health concerns and major life transitions.
“All you need is already within you, only you must approach your self with reverence and love… all I plead with you is this: make love of yourself perfect.” Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
My work focuses, at the outset, on helping clients identify and process the problem memories, stuck emotions or traumas that can drive persistently negative thoughts and unhelpful patterns of behavior. The work is tremendously helpful as we clear the path of obstacles and undue stress in order to work on your specially designed interior remodel. It is my personal goal to help clients build an unshakable trust in their true self, their whole self in order to live more of their life with greater love, meaning, and sense of ease.
My therapeutic work is integrative and holistic, assuming a continuous mind-body-brain-world connection. My clinical orientation draws primarily from psychodynamic, humanistic and attachment-based theory. It is highly informed by affective neuroscience and Buddhist psychology. As appropriate to a client's needs, the approach we use may include: Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based therapies and polyvagal exercises.
I’ve worked with adults, children and families, providing social work and counseling services within private agency, government and private practice settings for over 30 years. Licensed as a mental health counselor in 2015, I currently provide individual therapy to adults in an online private practice.
